National Vice Commander Milton G. Heifner, Central Region, and Division Commander Derrick Stinson, Sr. would like to thank everyone that took part in this year's membership caravan.   A special thanks goes out to the hosting posts for the warm welcome. The National Vice Commander was heard saying "They really make you feel like home."

Special Notice from Commander Stinson

      Our program Theme is the Four Pillars of the American Legion, we broadcast on Monday at 6:30PM on Channel 21 through WOW, RCN and Comcast cable stations in the Chicago area. You can support our efforts by calling in with questions that would allow us to educate the general public about Legion programs. You can call into the live show at 312-738-1060 between 6:30 – 6:53PM each Monday except holidays, through the end of March.
The Veteran's Administration now on Facebook.

All 152 VA medical centers are now actively represented on Facebook, the world’s largest social networking site. “This event marks an important milestone in the overall effort to transform how VA communicates with Veterans and provide them the health care and benefits they have earned,” said Secretary of Veterans Affairs Eric K. Shinseki.

Applications are now being taken for the Dept. Scholarship awards.

It’s that time of the year again to apply for the American Legion $1,000 Scholarship Awards (four scholarships for the Division) or the American Legion $1,000 Trade School Award (one scholarship for the Division) must be in the Department Headquarters Office by March 15, 2012. Faxed Applications are accepted.

$5,000 World Sport Chicago Scholarship

Will you be a Chicago High School junior in the Fall 2011?  Do you have a 2.0 GPA?  Have you played an eligible Olympic/Paralympic sport for two seasons in the past three years?  If so, the World Sport Chicago Scholarship is for you.
